Bountiful Baskets

Last week our neighbor told our church about this program Bountiful Baskets. A group of volunteers deliver fresh fruits and vegetables every other week to a location near you and you pay $17.50 for a huge basket of half fruits and half vegetables (it's a 3 dollar charge the first order). I really think if you went to the grocery store and bought them fresh it would be almost 50 dollars. The only thing is you won't know what you will be getting. We tried it out on Saturday along with a couple of my neighbors and off the top of my head we got 15 bananas, 15 or so tomatoes, 5 cucumbers, 10 pears, a head of lettuce, 6 or 7 oranges, a bunch of asparagus, a bag of carrots, and I think there was more but I can't remember right now. When I asked my neighbor what she got last time she had told me a list of different things like kiwi's, mangos, etc.

You can also order other things like the bread which is 5 loaves for 10 dollars (it is wheat it whole grain), mexican (I didn't try this one so I don't know what it is) and grains/granola which we did try and I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

It's every other week that they come and it's a group of volunteers. You can also volunteer, which is why the cost is so low to everyone because no one is getting paid to do this. Utah and Idaho did their's last week so it will be next week on the 13th and then on the 27th for February. How to do it is you get on, on Tuesday or Wednesday of that week and make your order. You'll pay for it online. Then you'll print out your order, bring a basket to where you selected your pick up location and at that time and pick up your produce. If you try it let me know!
